A User Name and a Password shows up in Outbound Routes

FreePBX Distro 10.13.66-22
All modules up to date

I was fat dumb and happy manually transferring settings to a new box with the newest 14 distro. I was in Outbound Routes and I see:

I check the main list or add page (not the settings page) and I see:

2018-05-20%2018_42_02-FreePBX%20Administration

If I SUBMIT the page, I get a CID of admin and password which is my admin password and things go a tad awry.

I go in and delete the CID (‘admin’) and the password and Submit, I see the main list or add page (not the settings page) and I see as the image (image 2) above and things work fine.

If I create a new outgoing trunk, the page defaults with a CID name of “admin” and my admin password in the password field.

I’m not yelling here, but WHERE in the world are these defaulted so I can get rid of it. Not certain what happened or how this occurred or why, but I’d love to get rid of this default “admin” as an outbound trunk CID and the actual admin Password as the trunk password.

I have four other distro boxes of the same version and the others don’t exhibit this bizarre behavior.

Thanks!

John

Google Motif not creating trunk or route

FreePBX Distro 10.13.66-22
Google Motif Module 13.0.3.2

Using Google voice on another box, (still working and connected), I thought I’d play around with it on another box. Installed the module and created the motif connection.

After saving and applying the configuration, and having the boxes to create a trunk and route checked, no trunk or route were auto created. Seemed to me that freepbx motif of some time back, auto created a trunk and route, and I didn’t have to create a custom trunk.

Any thoughts? Have I missed something simple… again?? Thanks!

PS. Did read a bug report from 12/17 and allegedly fixed I guess, but still happening.

Sangoma OS 7.5 is out!

@xrobau wrote:

There’s no major changes, and nothing traumatic that has potential to break things. The only thing to be aware of is that we had to (as usual) update the kmod-* packages (Kernel Modules) which do take a long time to update. Don’t panic. There’s nothing we can do about this, as every kernel module needs to look at all the kernels installed (not running, installed) on your computer, and see figure out which ones they are compatible with. Then they build an initrd for that kernel, so yeah. It takes a while. Sorry 8-(

This also resolves the DHCP CVE (which we were not affected by, as we disable NetworkManager).

Simply run yum udpate and you’ll be upgraded.

Minor warning: If you had previously installed the ‘sangoma-devel’ package (for example, if you are doing FreePBX Development) you will need to upgrade that FIRST, because that pins you to 7.4. If you don’t, you’ll get errors about kernel requirements. If you do have it installed, run yum upgrade sangoma-devel first.

The new 7.5 ISO is in final testing, and should be out within 24 hours or so. One of the reasons it’s taken so long is that we’ve changed the way the FreePBX RPM installs (which is why it used to take up to 30 minutes to install on slow machines), and it’s sped the install up dramatically. More news about that tomorrow (hopefully!)

Here is another post about upgrading to SNG7 and the process which has been established.

I upgraded another server yesterday.

https://issues.freepbx.org/browse/FREEPBX-17545

In that time the upgrade worked i am now on CentOS I mean SNG7 but, I can poke holes in the timezone being set back to UTC, asterisk not starting on boot, yum troubles, php problems. But what I want to know is what is the process for submitting when the Distro Upgrade fails?

Systematically asterisk works i was able to get to a stable state but my troubles are with the consistency of the server. I opened a issues ticket yesterday and nothing.

Should i have posted here first?

I must have updated fail2ban outside of the regular process because the one installed is newer than the one its looking for.

Hello all!

I am running into an issue where outgoing calls intermittently have no sound at the extension end. Also am getting errors about PHP and mysql.

The silent calls seem to get to “SIP/netc-0000000a is making progress passing it to SIP/113-00000009” but the audio never is passed to the phone even though the other end answers.

When trying to change some settings, I found that this morning I was getting this output:

Always answer one sip trunk with a different IVR?

OK here is what I have. I connected the FreePBX to 7 Toshiba SiP Stations. In my inbound route I answered ANY:ANY to a “Main IVR” We have 4 trunks on the Toshiba I need to be answered by their own IVR, so I have the Toshiba sending 4 digits to the main IVR with destinations to their IVR.

This seems to work about 75% of the time. To stop the 25% they get errors I want to make it so any time a call comes in a trunk (say 7211) to will be sent to IVR 7211.

I tried making a route for DID 7211 but that does not work. What am I missing?

Hi,

current version of apache on my system is Apache/2.4.6 (Sangoma). My vulnerabilities scan reports multiple problems with this version of apache, and recommends upgrading to version greater than 2.4.25. I did system update through the “Updates” module, and it says there’s no updates available.
I’m thinking about adding Centos base repo and upgrading apache from there, but I’m not sure how would that affect my Freepbx install.
Any thoughts on this would be helpful.

My current Frepbx setup is:
Current PBX Version:14.0.3.2
Current System Version:12.7.5-1805-3.sng7

The process name is never the same, it varies from kworker to php to other processes, so it is not process related.

Kernel version: (Linux 3.10.0-862.2.3.el7.x86_64 x86_64)
System version: 12.7.5-1805-3.sng7

There is a bug report regarding the kernel installed with the latest FreePBX Distro Update:

Is there anyone else facing this issue? What solution have you came up with? Is there a possibility to downgrade the kernel to the previous working version? Thanks.

Responsive Firewall Suddenly Blocking HTTP and SSH on AWS

Problem: FreePBX is functioning perfectly and handling calls except

Firewall is blocking GUI (reassigned to 58xxx in port management)

Firewall Wizard does not properly assign external address to Firewall on AWS.

(and yes, I do type http://:58xxx and my SSH software is correctly redirected to 58yyy!)

This is an AWS cloud instance which has been functioning perfectly for over 14 months but the GUI & SSH became blocked - only for AWS - sometime in the 8 weeks prior to June 2018. Have spent two weeks trying to diagnose and searching for answers but am finally admitting the need for sage assistance from the fpbx community.

I have three other fpbx instances -
one ISO on Vultr
two installed with identical scripts to AWS on DigitalOcean.

All five instances update system and fpbx nightly via cron and are currently:
PBX Firmware: 12.7.5-1805-3.sng7
PBX Service Pack: 1.0.0.0
FreePBX 14.0.3.6
Asterisk 13

All users are (obviously) remote and none have problems connecting.

All instances have identical commercial modules installed and functioning.

Interfaces tab of fpbx Firewall:

Interface Name: dynamic Default Zone: Internet (Default Firewall)
IP Address: 172.31.xx.xxx/20

This is the correct IP assigned to eth0 by AWS.
This is a permanently assigned interface - does not change on reboot.
An Elastic IP (public) is assigned through DHCP - does not change on reboot.

AWS rewrites ifcfg-eth0 at every reboot of an EC2 instance to:
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
DEVICE=eth0
HWADDR=aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff (HWADDR static because of assigned network interface)
ONBOOT=yes
TYPE=Ethernet
USERCTL=no

FPBX apparently creates an ifcfg-dynamic which contains

#Generated by FreeePBX Firewall. <<<Freee typo is not mine!>>>
#This file MAY BE CHANGED by the end user
ZONE=external
DESCRIPTION=“unset”

I can find no documentation as to what I might put in here which could potentially address the html and ssh blocking by the firewall.

Results of [root@002 ~]# route -n

FreePBX splash screen shows correct hardware MAC and same
interface (internal 172.31.xx.xxx) as firewall - HOWEVER…

When running Firewall Wizard, answering “Yes” at every prompt
the CORRECT External Address of

34.218.xxx.xxx comes up and shows Known Networks of 172.31.xx.xxx/20

Asterisk SIP settings correctly picks up external address of
34.218.xxx.xxx
and detects correct Local Networks of
172.31.16.0/20

HOWEVER, the correct external address and eth0 does not populate to Interfaces, only the internal adapter address with a device name of “dynamic.”

I suspect that some slight enhancement in the Firewall between
April and June of 2018 has caused a hiccup in the AWS interpretations.
AWS support reports that their EC2 instance boot behavior has not changed.

The identification of the network interface as dynamic vs eth0 also started during this time period. Was previously always eth0 after wizard ran.

Is this a Responsive Firewall bug or SUI? (Sudden User Incompetence)
Have created bug report but will happily cancel if incompetence is demonstrated and resolved!

Outbound DTMF issues

hi,
Some of my users have been complaining that they are having a hard time entering meeting codes etc when on outbound conference calls (webex etc). After looking into it i found this site that allows you to test dtmf. Test Calls I also turned on dtmf logging. What is see is that if I type slow, there is no issue, but if I enter digits at a normal pace, the pbx shows the digits, but the test call site does not hear them.
I double checked my sip trunk provider, they are using 2833 in and out. I changed my inbound trunk to 4733 (from auto) and the phones are doing 2833 to the pbx.

Are there any settings on the pbx that might help this situation?..is this a provider issue?

thanks in advance

Asterisk 15.

I am trying to get some SIP Trunks from Flowroute working. Currently everything works except inbound calls, the inbound audio does not work. Outbound audio does. But when I dial out, both inbound and outbound audio works.

Our FreePBX is assigned a publicly routable address, and I have verified theat the RTP UDP ports are open and the FreePBS is getting UDP packets on those ports during the call (verified using tcpdump).

Any ideas on what to check?

Dtmf duration on 2833

hi, i am having a dtmf issue and am looking for some background on dtmf and 2833. My users are complaining about missed digits on conference calls (webex etc). my phones are using 2833 and i am using 2833 on my sip trunk but in working with the provider, they did packet captures and found that all my digits are coming through with a tone duration of 1600ms. This is a problem for them as often, the second digit comes through before the 1600ms is up.

My question is this; when using 2833 all the way through (handset to pbx to sip trunk), does the pbx change the duration or is the pbx passing through the duration from the originating device (handset).

If the pbx is setting the duration, is this configurable? where, I cannot find this in the gui?

I would appreciate any help!
thanks
