Multiple people accessing the GUI, and mysql tuning

@WB3FFV wrote:

I am running several servers, some with FreePBX and some with PBXact, all based on the 10.13.66-21 releases.

I really have two questions here, the first is one of our builds is a large PBX with more than 500 extensions, so as such it's not uncommon for several people to be working in the PBX at the same time. If two people are in the GUI working at the same time, and someone makes a save, will it lose what the other person is doing??

As an example, if I was in UserManager updating someone, and someone was in say re-pointing an inbound route, is this covered in the design, or will one of us lose our work depending on who makes a save first?

The second question is, on this large system they have decided to add a pile of additional RAM, to see if helps performance, as the configs are so large it takes forever to do a reload/apply. With 128G of RAM in the server, is there any specific tuning we can perform (maybe bolstering mysql tuning) to try and take full advantage of this extra RAM to improve response times on administration??

Critical Error in Installation -- Recovery?

@CoreyFlies wrote:

Similar to several others, including this one, I have a clean Distro 14 install that has resulted in a broken installation and the "Critical Error" message on login.

The difference for me is that this is on a VM hosted in a data center, and getting console access to it is problematic. I know that the installation was incomplete because the NICs were not configured prior to its being run -- the host told me it was built before asking how the network should be configured.

I'm hoping there's a way now to resume and complete the installation. I know that starting over by booting from the CD will fix it, but is there another way? As I said, access to the ESX host and the VM console is problematic.

Thanks!

Software versions for FreePBX 14 and the SNG7 distro

@rnmixon wrote:

We just had a security audit and a number of vulnerabilities were flagged on our FreePBX 13 install, related to running an older apache httpd version - 2.2.15. Here's an example:

Apache HTTPD: ap_get_basic_auth_pw() Authentication Bypass (CVE-2017-3167) (apache-httpd-cve-2017-3167)
Description: Use of the ap_get_basic_auth_pw() by third-party modules outside of the authentication phase may lead to authentication requirements being bypassed. Third-party module writers SHOULD use ap_get_basic_auth_components(), available in 2.2.34 and 2.4.26, instead of ap_get_basic_auth_pw(). Modules which call the legacy ap_get_basic_auth_pw() during the authentication phase MUST either immediately authenticate the user after the call, or else stop the request immediately with an error response, to avoid incorrectly authenticating the current request.

Are there plans to update to a more recent version for the new distro built on FreePBX 14 and SNG7?

In general, is there an easy way to see what RPM versions are in SNG7?

Thank you - Richard

Can't reactivate freepbx

@mcisar wrote:

Needed to change my system from a static IP to PPPoE because of changes at my ISP. Made the change to the network config and everything tested out fine. Then went to get into the GUI and wasn't able to get in... got a message on the console to the effect that I needed to run fwconsole -fix_zend which I did and the process disabled two modules. Was able to then get into the GUI. Went into system admin and the system showed as unactivated so I did a reactivation which was successful. Went into module admin and did a few pending module updates then ended up going back into system admin and the system showed as unactivated. Tried to do a reactivation but this time it's saying that the deployment id is already licensed to another host and that it needs to be unlinked from the portal. Went into the portal and the only thing that I could find close to unlink was the deactivate button on the deployment which I tried several times. Doesn't seem to have any affect since I get the same error if I subsequently try to reactivate.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get the system re-activated. I wasn't expecting the whole system to take a dump just by changing the network config.

Hi,
While the upgrade script is still beta , i was thinking of a fresh install of distro 14,but i have some queries.
1. Do i have to do all the cofiguration manualy (extensions,inbound and outbound routes,trunks,custom destinations , ...) or is there a way to import the configuration from a 13 distro backup. ?
2.What will happen with the distro activation and the commercial modules i have now on my 13 distro ?
3.What is the savest way to upgrade ? Should i maybe wait for the stable ubgrade script ?
Thank you

I downgraded tiome conditions module, but it doesn't help. Also tried multiple browsers.
When adding a time group trough Time conditions, it does work.
Anybody having the same issue? If so, I will open a issue.
Many thanks in advance.

Disable gzip compression on Backups?

@WB3FFV wrote:

Is there any easy way to disable Gzip compression on the Backups in FreePBX? I notice it can take some time to gzip up voicemail and CDR's, to the point that I had to increase the timeout for PHP so backups didn't fail.

That said I run backups to a remote system using ZFS with automatic file compression, so really no need at all to compress the data over here when backing up. So if any easy way to reduce the level, or turn it off, I would love to know..

Pbx.c: Maximum PBX stack exceeded -- Does Freepbx have the same issue as Elastix?

@JPinsz wrote:

Dear all,

My Elastix server has 21 outbound routes, 23 trunks, 337 inbound routes , 84 Misc applications , 132 Misc Destinations .
We use Misc applications and Misc Destinations to transfer call to user's mobile by using simple codes like 33XXX . As the Misc applications inscrease , we got this issue:every time we add a misc application item ,and one of the outbound routes will be disable(doesn't work any more).
The log warming is : pbx.c: Maximum PBX stack exceeded
I believe we reach the limit of the ELastix , AST_PBX_MAX_STACK (128). Maybe it's like : AST_PBX_MAX_STACK = outbound routes(21) + trunks(23) + misc applications(84) = 128
Does Freepbx 11 or 13 have the same limit AST_PBX_MAX_STACK (128)?
Please advise , thanks and looking forward your reply.

THIS IS BETA SOFTWARE. PLEASE DO NOT RUN THIS ON YOUR PRODUCTION SYSTEMS.

THIS ONLY WORKS ON THE OFFICIAL FREEPBX DISTRO (NOT PBXact!) AT THIS TIME.

Using FreePBX Distro 14.0.1.4
Setup a queue, agents are using *45, but I added a queue password, and doesn't seem to ask for a password.
The alternative logon method of QueueNumber* will ask for that password though.
Everything is pretty generic for a deployment, nothing really special that I can think would effect this.
Functioning as designed maybe?

Confirm Calls - stuck on for time condition destinations

@MarkBe wrote:

I have FreeBBX12.0.76.4 on Asterisk 11.25.1 with all modules up to date

Two days ago, when calling our main numbers, callers started being requested their name; "At the tone, please say your name" and the Confirm Calls dialog was played to the receiving agent at each incoming call. I checked all the settings and also restarted the server. No change

The main numbers route to a time condition. During work hours this then routes to a queue containing ext 201 (reception); this extension has a follow-me to ext 201and 299 (night-bell)

Afterhours, the time condition routes to a ring group which contains ext 201and 209 (night-bell)

I have checked (and re-applied) the following:

  • Extensions, that Call Screening is set to "Disabled"
  • Follow-me; that Confirm Calls is un-ticked
  • Queue; that Call Confirm is un-ticked
  • Ring group; that Confirm Calls is un-ticked
  • Inbound routes; that Privacy Manager is set to "No"

Please can someone tell me what I am missing?

You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

I ran 'yum update --skip-broken and got most updates done, but can't seem to get this last error fixed. Any ideas how to resolve this?

You are likely to experience significant system issues. (no sh1t)

Is this because I didn't have internet when the distro installed?

So i did fwconsole ma install ucp and it seems to be working fine..

Not sure why it isn't installed by default.
