Question about re-installation and re-activation

@arielgrin wrote:

Hi there, I hope one of the Sangoma guys can help me with this question.

Currently I'm running FreePBX Distro 10.13.66-22 32 bit. I would like to move to the same version but 64 bit, and I understand that the only way to do that is to re-install it using the 64 bit edition.

I will not change the hardware whatsoever, so I would like to know if I can re-activate FreePBX directly without needing a Zend reset, as I have some commercial modules installed.

I would really like to know how to proceed, as I already lost one reset due to a failed motherboard.

Certain Outbound Calls not Ringing

@waheuler wrote:

Here's an odd one, maybe I'm missing something obvious.

I have a FreePBX distro running version 10.13.66-22 with all modules updated.

Calls to certain outbound numbers are not ringing on the callers side. It shows the call in progress to the user, and then sound immediately begins with the destination user either answering the phone or going to voicemail. I can reproduce on using certain phone numbers, but it will occur from any phone and any DID on our side.

Looking at the logs:

[2017-11-15 11:04:31] VERBOSE[11834][C-0000074f] app_dial.c: Called SIP/ATT_Outgoing_BE2/******3037

The call shows up just like any other call and gets a ringing response, but nothing is being generated. I have reports of this happening at many different numbers and am having employees log the calls where it happens. Let me know if any more information would help.

Thanks for any advice!

Module update

I was in the process of module update when an exception error occurred making the GUI unusable. I even tried to apply config and didn't work. I figured I could restore from full backup, but that had no affect. How do I fix my phone server? Freepbx disto 13.0.192.19.

KVN Installation Issues (filesystem errors)

@gdi2k wrote:

I'm trying to install the latest stable FreePBX distro (SNG7-FPBX-64bit-1710-1.iso) as a virtual machine (KVM).

This is on a Proxmox 5.0 host system. I already have an older version of FreePBX working fine on an older Proxmox install elsewhere, so I know it can work.

After the installation completes without issue, the system halts on reboot as shown below in the first screenshot. The errors look disk / filesystem related. I've done the install twice now on different underlying disks, but same issue each time. I'm reasonably certain it's not actually a disk related issue on the host system (all other VMs run fine).

The VM has 2 GB RAM, 32 GB of disk space and uses VirtIO for disk and network. It uses the standard kvm64 processor type.

Screenshots:

First boot after install (it halts here and doesn't respond to ALT+CTRL+Del

Fwconsole restart leads to asterisk crash

@Loki wrote:

Hey,

I have upgraded my distro to last 10.13.66-22 version and now I experience the strange issue. When I try to run fwconsole restart, Asterisk (13.18) becomes unresponsive with tons of "Unsupported transport (PJSIP_EUNSUPTRANSPORT)" messages and eventually crashes with core dump (see backtrace below). When I run "core stop", then fwconsole stop, then fwconsole start system looks to behave normally. I guess, it is more a question for asterisk forum, but still do not understand, why the crash happens only when running restart.

Does anyone have similar experience? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Thank you.

Missing sound files (PMS) after module removal

@Loki wrote:

Hey,

after update to latest distro 10.13.66-22 I had to remove "hotel wakeup module" since related daemon was eating 1 full CPU core. Now I get error messages in the asterisk log like this:

WARNING[2523] media_index.c: Failed to stat /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/en/pms: No such file or directory

Can I somehow get rid of these?

Thank you

Fyi - Advanced Installation boohs

@hvullu wrote:

Just some point who I encountered trying to install the lastest Distro SNG7-FPBX-64bit-1710-1.iso.

I tried to use the advanced mode becaus I like to change some default values not fitting when using the automatic install, namely:
fixed IP
different name
different timezone
different keyboardlayout

I think these should be applied before anything else is done, even before registering the host.
But you need to register the host to use even the "free" Systemadmin module were you can change IP to static an all the other stuff (as far as I read).
But without change of the IP I can't register (the network guy is patroling here), so I have a Henne-Ei-problem (how is it called in english chicken-egg-problem?).
Ok so use the commandline, does FreePBX reflect all changes done on cli?

Ok some "bugs" I encountered.
1.) bootloader was not installed, The install went fairly through after a reboot - nothing. I booted to the "recovery options" from usb, chroot in the system made a grub2-install, system booted - fine.
2.) keyboard was partly wrong. Was set in the dialog during install to "de". Setting was only made for X11 not for the console - keep that in mind when typing the password ........
3.) networking. I noticed after login in the console that no ip was assigned, albeit entered in the installation dialog. Ok the auto install uses the old devicenames "eth0, ppp0, ...." when installed in advanced mode the new names "ens0p.." are used so the interface wasn't configured at all, can FreePBX handle the new naming convention?

So I finally have to wait for my network guy, to give me a dhcp assingment with which I'm allowed to register the installed host, for setting up the basic things.

For the future it would be nice when the advanced install will work flawless like the automated install.

Regards

p.s.: it is a rhel/centos thing I know, but this is a combined work from here so it's quite clear that people complain here and not at redhat's place
p.p.s.: if you find some typos, feel free to keep them, my mother tongue is not english

Programatically create inbound / outbound route

@Adam7288 wrote:

Hello. My voip provider - flowroute - allows you to use their api to register a DID. Thats the easy part. Now that I have a DID registered, I need to tell my freepbx box to add this outbound route, and create an inbound route with a default user and destination.

Is there any way to do this in an automated way. I am open to having a program write to the conf files if need be. But ideally there would be a more integrated approach.

Thanks!

CDR reports have duplicate entries

@gotallie wrote:

FreePBX 14.0.1.20

New install/upgrade. The CDR reports are crazy. There are duplicate identical entries for every extension in a ring group for each incoming call.
I see that one can click on the link in the "System" column field and see more detail, but that is where the duplicate entries should be broke out. One CDR entry for each incoming call, click on the link to see the detail of duplicate entries and the call event log.
Having to scroll through 25 or more entries for each incoming call, need I repeat, duplicate entries, is out of control. In what scenario would this be useful?

Is there an option (check box, config entry) for this?

Bulk update of User Manager & Fax Details

@dsubs wrote:

Freepbx 12

It seems Bulk User manager is not available in Freepbx 12. My requirement is to update the email ids of all the users in User management.

Will updating the mysql database table "freepbx_users" directly help me with this or do I still need to go and click on Submit on each user in "User manager" for this even after this modification in mysql?

Similarly, "Bulk extensions" module does not have the FAX parameters "Coversheet email", "Outgoing header". "Fax email" can be modified by using Bulk extensions. However, my requirement is to bulk modify the FAX coversheet email and FAX outgoing header also along with the FAX email for all extensions.It seems the mysql table for that is fax_users.

Again, mysql tables are for freepbx. How do i make this change reflect in the Asterisk database.

Thanks.

FreePBX Distro hangs at install

@Bradbpw wrote:

I recently upgraded my computer with a new motherboard, memory, CPU, and SSD. I'm trying to install FreePBX distro 10.13.66-64bit on the computer. The install hangs every time at the same spot, the last line on the screen says

[<ffffffff8100c200>] ? child_rip+0x0/0x20

I've tried installing the PBX 13 no RAID option (which I want, I have a warm spare) and the PBX 13 advanced option. Both hang in the same spot. I have successfully installed Ubuntu Server 16.04.3 LTS as a test as well as Windows 8.1. While I had Windows installed I installed drivers from the Motherboard disc.

The computer is connected to the internet and I did a successful ping test while in Ubuntu Server.

Computer hardware specs:
Intel Core i3-7100 Kaby Lake Dual-Core 3.9 GHz LGA 1151
Team Elite Plus 4GB 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2133
ASUS H110M-E/M.2 LGA 1151 Intel H110 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 Micro ATX Motherboards
WD Blue 250GB Internal SSD Solid State Drive - SATA 6Gb/s 2.5 Inch

Any idea how to get around this?

2nd NIC not showing up on FreePBX 14

@pwostran wrote:

I installed the FreePBX 14 Distro 1710-1 today as i need to install a new PBX at a remote office. I used the same hardware as the FreePBX 13 thats running at the office but the 2nd NIC will not show up. eth0 is there but not eth1. The machine has 2 onboard NICs and they both are enabled in the BIOS. Doing a ifconfig shows eth0 and lo and a lspci only shows 1 nic. Has anyone come across this problem? Any help would be appreciated.
