Hi All,
I am very new to FBX and am attempting to install it on a standalone machine (HP Elite Desk 800 g5).
I have downloaded the ISO and created VM to test and that works fine. However after copying ISO to a USB and then plugging into HP machine, Linux freezes

at this page (see attached image) and I cannot progress to even get to the FPBX installlation. I have tried many Bios settings such as disabling fastboot, disabling secure boot etc… to no avail.

Could it be a hardware compatibility issue?

Thanks in advance.

I can see posts before about this but the solutions seem to be rather specific, so would rather not do anything without advice.

How to select / delete Freepbx kernel selections proposed at boot sequence?

@lcn wrote:

Hello,

Since few days, my Freepbx now proposes 2 Freepbx kernel versions when server boots up :

  • Sangoma Linux (3.10.0-1127.19.1.e17.x86_64) 7 (Core) Selected by default
  • Sangoma Linux (3.10.0-957.21.3.e17.x86_64) 7 (Core)

The latest version (the 1st one on the list) is loaded by default after few second downcount.
The issue is that version is corrupted and it is not able to load properly.

The second choice works perfectly.

How could i deleted the corrupted version and change boot menu and keep only the working version ?
It there something like a grub file to modify ?

Thank you for your help,

Blank screen for UI after post_upgrade - permissions issue

@hmg21215 wrote:

I have had problems upgrading my Distro Freepbx. I resolved a lot of them by using post_upgrade. But now, a permissions issue has appeared. When I went to the UI, there was just a white screen. From the browser console, I saw that config.php would not run because of permissions. Using Winscp, I changed the permissions of the file from 644 to 755 and it ran the page but gave a different permissions error: “Unknown: open(/var/lib/php/session/sess_ips7dsr32l5orr2i92riutvgi7, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13)”.

I re-ran post_upgrade, and the permissions for config.php reverted to 644. How can I get my UI up and running again?

Can't yum update due to could not retrieve mirror list 500 error

I have several FreePBX instances running. All can run yum update, but one consistently fails with the following error:

Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://mirrorlist.sangoma.net/?release=$releasever&arch=x86_64&repo=os&dist=$dist&staging=$staging error was
14: HTTP Error 500 - Internal Server Error

The PBX is running fine otherwise. Full internet connectivity. The Sangoma-base.repo file is identical to the file on a PBX that can run yum update. The 500 error from the sangoma mirrorlist appears legitimate.

PHP / OpenSSL versions

@nubink wrote:

Hi,

I am running FPBX 14 and was looking to update to 15. However, I note that the PHP and OpenSSL versions are old and deprecated introducing the potential for security risks.

In fact, there is an update to at least OpenSSL 1.0.2u that Yum will not install (currently on 1.0.2k-fips) and with PHP on 5.6.40, deprecate in 2018 I believe, I think we are running a potentially insecure system… even with the upgrade to 15

Happy to be proven wrong - although security scanners WILL pick this up.

What is the plan to sort this out?

Thanks all

Hi,

since a few days I am having a problem when running a simple “yum update”. The error is below.
I tried a few things myself: “yum clean all”. Verified “yum repolist” and IUS is not activated actually.

What concerns me is that those IUS packages are actually provided by the sng-pkgs repo:

python36u x86_64 3.6.7-1.ius.centos7 sng-pkgs 57 k
python36u-libs x86_64 3.6.7-1.ius.centos7 sng-pkgs 8.9 M
python36u-setuptools noarch 39.0.1-1.ius.centos7 sng-pkgs 642 k

which doesn’t look right. EPEL and IUS are known to be conflicting, so why are IUS packages in sng sng-pkgs repo?

I can forcefully remove those 3 rpms and then run the upgrade, but it simply doesn’t feel right. I had similar issues some time back (just the other way round) and I managed to remove the IUS versions to go back to the regular packages. Surely the IUS packages in sng-pkgs are the cause of this problem.

Anyone any idea, anyone having found a solution for that?

Regards

Tom

FreePBX and CentOS base: CentOS is dead from now on

Hi!

CentOS (the base of FreePBX distro) decided to drop support for CentOS 8 until end of 2021. It is replaced by CentOS stream - which just isnt’t usable for production environments.

What are your thoughts how to proceed regarding FreePBX base? CentOS 7 seems to be supported as initially told and planned. But what about the future regarding the base of FreePBX distro?

Thanks
Dirk
